Papers of the Accounting Standards Committee of the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB). The ASC was established in 1976 to develop a system of definitive standards for financial reporting and accounting, following the accounting scandals of the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Material includes agendas and agenda papers, minutes, correspondence, memoranda, press releases, press cuttings, government and other reports, draft and published copies of standards, offprints and copies of articles and extracts from books. The collection also contains the papers of the ASC's predecessor body, the Accounting Standards Steering Committee (ASSC).

Papers of the Auditing Practices Committee of the Committee of Consultative Accountancy Bodies (CCAB). The APC was established in 1976 to produce professional standards and working guidelines for auditors and to facilitate debate in the field of auditing. It was born out of the business and financial crises of the late 1960s and early 1970s, which resulted in criticism of auditors.
