Manchester Business School (MBS) was founded in 1965 following goverment recommendations to set up two national centres of excellence for business & management studies. MBS quickly earned a national and international reputation as leading business school with a flagship MBA programme, and high quality academic research activities.
The MBS: Library & Information Service was created in tandem with the development of MBS. Through its support of the teaching, learning & research activities of MBS, the library soon became one of the leading European business information libraries.
Today (as part of the John Rylands University Library) the Eddie Davies & Precinct Libraries continue to maintain a number of highly specialist business & management collections. Over the past 40 years, a significant number of materials from these collections have been retained and will be of particular interest to all students and reseachers of the business and managment subject discipline.
These materials include market research, government & international statistics, company
information, annual reports, newspapers & academic journals.
