What happens next?

We aim to attract the brightest minds onto our DBA programmes. Our rigorous selection process ensures that, if successful, you will be studying alongside an international cohort of high calibre, high achieving professionals.

Initial enquiries

For initial enquiries about the DBA or how to make an application, please contact us at dba@manchester.ac.uk or phone +44 (0)161 306 6600. Alternatively please download a copy of our brochure.

Requirements for study

You will need a recognised Bachelors degree at Honours level and a Masters or MBA degree. Please refer to our entry requirements section for details.

Initial pre-application:

To be considered for our DBA programme please send your completed educational background checklist (which will be sent to you following your enquiry), an up-to-date CV and a summary of your intended research topic (approximately 1-3 pages) to dba@manchester.ac.uk. Please ensure the research summary includes detailed research questions and methodology, outlines how the work would extend the existing literature and contains academic referencing.

Reviewing your research proposal

If you meet our entry criteria your details will be reviewed by the Programme Director and, subject to their approval, we will use your research summary to identify a potential supervisor who will then arrange an informal discussion with you (by telephone or Skype).

If the outcome of this discussion is successful you will be asked to submit a formal online application including a full 3000 word research proposal (guidelines for content will be provided). As part of the application process you may be asked to take part in a further interview with your potential supervisor. If you are not available for a face-to-face interview at Alliance MBS, a telephone or Skype interview will be arranged.
