There are many innovations in design and delivery to ensure the Manchester Leadership Development Programme makes a difference to you and your organisation.
- Applied Learning Challenges (ALC)
Each delegate brings with them a live business challenge. Throughout the programme you will apply theories, models, tools and techniques to the challenge. Ensuring our Original Thinking gets Applied to your organisational challenges problems and opportunities.
Delegates will be placed into groups of three with people on the programme who face similar issues. Together you will support, test and develop solutions to your Applied Learning Challenges. We know that insights come from the other leaders on the programme, not just our world-leading faculty.
- Internal Mentors and External Coaching
Each delegate will identify and interact with an internal mentor from their organisation – helping to bridge the gap between the insights and ideas explored during the programme and the reality of embedding and driving sustainable change when you get back.
The whole programme is underpinned by one-to-one coaching to help you focus on your Applied Learning Challenge and get the most from the programme, for both you and your organisation.
The six-month course consists of 3x3 day residential blocks followed by flexible five week long interblocks.
The residential blocks offer delegates the benefits of face to face intensive learning from our team of world-class experts. They feature a range of focused, challenging and participative activities looking at the three most important themes for success at work:
The leadership theme recognises that developing excellence in leadership is an on-going process in the learning and implementation of skills at three levels: Leadership of self; leadership of teams and leadership of the organisation.
In an environment where organisations are increasingly buffeted by the disruptive effects of new technology and business innovation, gaining strategic insight is ever more important to commercial survival. The strategy theme draws on our work with top teams to deliver the latest thinking in business strategy.
Adopting a global business perspective, this theme will explore the concepts and principles that underpin effective commercially driven decision-making and practice. Its aim is to support leaders to become more commercially astute via the development and implementation of tools, skills and techniques.
Between each three day residential block, delegates will as a group choose weekly topics and themes for short online sessions delivered through the Programme Website. Each cohort of delegates will shape the content and design of their programme to suit the needs of their Applied Learning Challenges. These give you the opportunity to practice, discuss and reflect on what you’ve learned with your fellow delegates.
There are bonding events, site visits and inspirational speakers to ensure you build your network while you are on the programme and so we don’t lose touch there is an invitation to the Executive Education Network Conference.
