The Business Information Service (BIS), is part of the Eddie Davies Library at Manchester Business School. It enables businesses to access both the resources of the library and a wide range of external business sources, including those from a comprehensive range of electronic service providers. We aim to help you further your business, give it a competitive edge and plan for future trends.

The BIS undertakes research on behalf of its clients using both the resources of the Eddie Davies Library at Manchester Business School, and a wide range of external sources including a comprehensive range of electronic service providers.

Annual Premium Research Service
The BIS offers an Annual Premium Research Service. This means that whatever your research requirements, whether they be tailored/ad hoc requests, regular news/literature searches, or competitor monitoring, we can provide a research account suited to your needs for a set annual fee.
Many companies have successfully taken advantage of establishing a pre-paid research account for the provision of research. A priority service is guaranteed and regular usage statements will be provided. Tailored analysis and research
We provide tailored analysis reports on companies, industries or any particular business or management topic. All reports are individually prepared to the client's specific needs and their requirements are discussed in depth at the outset. Charges vary depending on the time taken and the resources utilised in the compilation of the reports.

Tailored Monitoring Services
We can produce reports on companies, industries or topics with regular updates provided at weekly, monthly or quarterly intervals. Each request is individually tailored to clients' requirements and can be amended at any time. Monitoring services can include an alerting service for, for example, relevant new industry reports or journal titles for various sectors, or take the form of regular reports on companies or sectors, with tailored content. Costs for this service vary depending on the scale/frequency of the requirements - please ask for a quotation.

Ad Hoc Business Information Requests
We can research any business information topic or request providing the results according to your deadlines. Our prices are based on research time with reduced rates for Corporate Members and any associated costs such as photocopying or use of online databases. Examples of previous work undertaken include supplying macroeconomic forecasts for 15 European countries, and consumption of dairy products in the UK and Europe.
