We are delighted to be able to offer a number of Manchester Business School scholarships for all Masters programmes starting in September 2013.

Loyalty Bursary

The Masters Loyalty Bursary is offered to University of Manchester students and alumni who are going to enrol on one of our Masters courses at the School in September 2013. To reward academic merit, we are giving a £1,000 award to those achieving an upper second class honours degree or above. The bursary is deducted from the course tuition fees.

Masters scholarships for UK/EU/international students 2013 entry

We have a number of scholarships available across all our Masters programmes. The scholarship awards are £5,000 each towards the cost of tuition fees. The scholarships are available on a rolling basis so early application is advisable.

Who are the scholarships available to?

All UK/EU/international applicants who hold an offer of a place to study on one of our Masters programmes.

What is the application process?

All applicants who hold an offer will automatically be considered for a scholarship. There is no scholarship application process.

What is the Scholarship criteria?

Decisions will be made on merit and not financial need. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who:

  • Are able to demonstrate excellent academic performance.
  • Are on track to obtain, or who have graduated with a minimum high 2.1 or 1st UK undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent.
  • Have previously studies at a university with a strong academic reputation and ranking.
  • Have the potential to contribute and enrich all aspects of the Masters programme and the diverse academic and cultural profile of the Masters class.

When will the scholarship awards be announced?

Scholarships will normally be awarded at the point of offer. Early applicants will be contacted by the end of January if successful.

MBS Annual Fund Masters Scholarship

Who are the scholarships available to?

Only final year Manchester Access Programme students will be eligible for this scholarship.

How much is the scholarship?

The scholarship covers fees of up to £13,000 plus living expenses of £7,000.

What is the application process?

Please submit a statement of purpose, stating which programme you are interested in and why.

An interesting and well-written statement of purpose showing strong motivation for the course you have chosen can influence the final decision.

This should be concise (no more than one page) and concentrate on why you are interested in the subject you have applied for and why you consider yourself to be a suitable applicant.

The statement of purpose helps us to assess how well you are able to articulate goals, motivations and values, and your writing and reasoning abilities. Try to make your statement of purpose interesting and reflect your personality, we have to read a lot of them!

  • Is a final year undergraduate student who has previously completed the Manchester Access Programme
  • Is able to demonstrate excellent academic performance.
  • Is on track to obtain a minimum 2.1 or 1st undergraduate degree from the University of Manchester.
  • Has the potential to contribute to and enrich all aspects of the Masters programme and the diverse academic and cultural profile of the Masters class.

What are the requirements of the MBS Annual Fund Scholarship?

  • The scholar will be required to submit one written progress report to the MBS Development Office.
  • The Scholar will be expected to participate in development activities which may include attending and/or speaking at alumni events, or meeting alumni and/or donors.
  • The Scholar will be expected to participate in marketing activities which may include photography/filming and being featured in development publications.

When will the scholarship award be announced?

The scholarship will be awarded at the point of offer.

Applications need to be received by 1 May 2013. A decision will be made in June 2013.

Masters scholarships for US residents 2013 entry

We have 5 scholarships available across all our Masters programmes, with a value of £10,000 towards the cost of tuition fees. The scholarships are available on a rolling basis so early application is advisable.

Who are the scholarships available to?

All US residents who hold an offer to study on one of our Masters programmes.

What is the application process?

All eligible applicants who hold an offer will be automatically considered for a scholarship. There is no scholarship application process.

What is the Scholarship Criteria?

  • Are able to demonstrate excellent academic performance.
