Postgraduate Loan

The UK Government has confirmed that new Postgraduate Loans will be introduced for students starting a masters course in the 2016/17 academic year. Non means-tested loans of up to £10,000 will be available for eligible students, and the loan can be used towards course and living costs.

Manchester Alumni Scholarship Scheme 2017 entry

The Scholarship is offered to students and alumni of The University of Manchester enrolling on one of the Business School's taught Masters courses in September 2017. To reward academic merit, we give a £3,000 award to those achieving a first class honours degree and £1,000 for an upper second class honours (2:1) degree. The award is deducted from the course tuition fee at registration.

Masters scholarships for US residents 2017 entry

There are five scholarships available across all our Masters courses, with a value of £10,000 towards the cost of the course tuition fee. The scholarships are available on a rolling basis so early application is advisable.

Who are the scholarships available to?

All US residents who hold an offer to study on one of our Masters programmes.

What is the application process?

All eligible applicants who hold an offer will be automatically considered for a scholarship. There is no scholarship application process.

What is the Scholarship Criteria?

Decisions will be made on merit and not financial need. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who:

  • Are able to demonstrate excellent academic performance
  • Are on track to obtain, or who have graduated with a minimum high 2.1 or 1st UK undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent.
  • Have previously studies at a University with a strong academic reputation and ranking.
  • Have the potential to contribute and enrich all aspects of the Masters programme and the diverse academic and cultural profile of the Masters class

When will the scholarship awards be announced?

Scholarships will be awarded from January 2017. You will be contacted within four weeks of your offer being made if you have been successful.

A limited number of scholarships are available across all our Masters courses for September 2017 entry. The value of the scholarships will go towards the cost of the full course tuition fee.

Who are the scholarships available to?

All UK/EU/international applicants who hold an offer of a place to study on one of our Masters programmes.

What is the application process?

All applicants who hold an offer will automatically be considered for a scholarship. There is no scholarship application process.

What is the Scholarship criteria?

Decisions will be made on merit and not financial need. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who:

  • Are able to demonstrate excellent academic performance.
  • Are on track to obtain, or who have graduated with a 2:1 or 1st UK undergraduate degree or overseas equivalent.
  • Have previously studied at a University with a strong academic reputation and ranking.
  • Have the potential to contribute and enrich all aspects of the Masters programme and the diverse academic and cultural profile of the Masters class.

When will the scholarship awards be announced?

Scholarships will be awarded in line with our selection deadlines.

Applicants who have been successfully awarded a scholarship will therefore be contacted on or before their selection deadline via email. If you have not received a scholarship award by your initial deadline, you may still be considered in the next selection round.

GREAT Britain ScholarshipGREAT Britain Scholarship for India 2017 entry

Alliance Manchester Business School, in partnership with the British Council, has previously offered one scholarship to applicants from India. This is currently under review for entry in September 2017 and we will update this section as soon as we have more information.

Who are the scholarships available to?

All Indian applicants will be considered for this Scholarship.

What is the application process?

We will automatically look at Indian students who have applied for one of our taught Masters courses so no separate application for this award is required.

What is the Scholarship criteria?

Our decision will be made on academic merit and we will be looking for excellent grades from a highly ranked institution.

What is the deadline?

We will consider all Indian students who have applied by 30 April 2016.

When will the award be announced?

The successful candidate will be notified before the end of June 2016.

 

Goa Education Trust Scholarship

The Goa Education Trust (GET) Scholarships 2016 are open to any Indian national applying for a masters course in the UK beginning in September/October 2016.

Students with an excellent track record in academics and extracurricular achievements, and who are under 30 years of age, will be eligible to apply. The GET Scholarships 2016 will fund young Indians to pursue a masters in the UK and will cover part or full tuition fees not exceeding 12,500. There are no restrictions on courses of study or university, all universities are encouraged to promote it to masters applicants from India.

External awards

These scholarships are available to international students for 2016 entry.

Fulbright Scholarships

This award is for students from the USA only and includes tuition and living expenses. The application for September 2017 entry opened on 31 March and will close 11 October 2016.

These are available to high calibre international students with the personal intellect and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership.

If you will be receiving an external scholarship award or postgraduate loan which only covers part of your tuition fee, you will still be considered for one of our scholarships.

Please note if you are a graduate of the University of Manchester and are awarded an AMBS Masters Scholarship, you will not also receive the Manchester Alumni Scholarship.
