Our award-winning Careers Service can help you achieve your ambitions:
Students with disabilities
We welcome applications from candidates with sensory and physical disabilities, specific learning difficulties and other special needs. Over the years, students with a wide range of needs have successfully completed postgraduate study here.
Adaptations have been made to a number of rooms in Halls to meet the needs of students with impaired mobility, and two flats in the Whitworth Park complex have been specifically designed for this purpose. Provision has been made to meet the needs of students with hearing or sight impairments, and there are also extensive IT and other support facilities.
Before applying for a course we encourage you to contact your course Admissions Officer, to discuss any needs you may have and arrangements which may be necessary.
You're welcome to visit the School before applying to find out whether we're the right one for you. The School will take all reasonable steps to ensure that if you meet the academic criteria your disabled status will not exclude you from following your chosen course.
Our Disability Support Office is located on the lower ground floor of the John Owens Building. The office provides advice to prospective and current students with regards to all aspects of disability-related support needs whilst at the School.
To enquire about an Open Day and further details of disability support please contact the Disability Support Office on +44 (0) 161 275 7512 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Students with children
For those students who need to combine study with caring for dependents, the University has provided guidance and services which are specific to your needs
Many students have benefited from our peer support scheme, one of the largest in Europe, which has been helping students make the most of their time here for more than ten years.
