AMBS' apprenticeship provision rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted

AMBS has achieved a ‘Good’ rating across all assessment areas in a report published today by Ofsted, following a full inspection of its apprenticeship provision.

The report highlights the School’s commitment to providing a “high standard of training” and fostering a supportive learning environment for our apprentices.

Ofsted reported that tutors are “highly qualified” with “extensive subject expertise” and the close collaboration between tutors, staff, and work-based mentors enables apprentices to “develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours at work”. They found that our apprentices evolve into “confident, effective, and trusted leaders in their organisations”.

Inspectors also praised AMBS for ensuring its senior leader apprenticeship programmes address the leadership skills gaps within the region and the NHS.

Professor Ken McPhail, AMBS Head of School, said: "I am immensely proud of the positive report from Ofsted. It recognises our commitment to delivering high-quality training and nurturing the next generation of leaders.

“I would like to thank my colleagues in Executive Education for their dedication and hard work. Their commitment to our learners and their success is truly commendable and has contributed significantly to our positive outcome.”

There are currently over 300 learners on our senior leader apprenticeship programmes, many of whom are employed in the NHS.
