Professor Cary Cooper was featured in an article surrounding statistics saying that 100 per cent of HR professionals would consider introducing a six hour work day. Within the article, Professor Cooper detailed the drawbacks of working a traditional eight-hour day, highlighting the positive reaction to notion of a 30-hour week. The long working hours culture is a big contributor to stress-related illnesses, and therefore the UK’s low productivity per capita. Professor Cooper also noted that another alternative to reduced hours is flexible working, which encourages individuals to balance their lives better.
