Manchester businesses help MBA students fly flag for the city at European Business School Olympics
Canterbury, Marketing Manchester and Virgin Active have joined together to support a team of MBA students from Manchester Business School (MBS) - who will be taking part in this year’s European MBA Tournament (MBAT), which recently took place in Paris.
The MBS team will benefit from sports kits, complementary gym membership to get training off to the best possible start, and financial backing as it flies the flag for Manchester at Europe's largest gathering of MBAs, with over 2,000 participants from Europe's top 14 business schools.
Canterbury, market leader in sports performance apparel, is providing 100 sports kits for the MBS Team. Jean-François Maille, marketing executive, for Stockport-based Lead Sponsor Canterbury commented:
"We are proud to be sponsoring a team from such a leading academic institution, which reflects our consistent support of high-performing, successful international teams."
Marketing Manchester is the Platinum Sponsor, underpinning their long-standing relationship with Manchester Business School. Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, explained:
"We wanted to demonstrate our support for one of the top MBA schools in the world. We are proud that they will be flying the flag for Manchester and wish them every success."
The team have been training at Virgin Active's city-centre Printworks gym for a month leading up to the tournament - taking advantage of complementary membership on offer for them.
Professor Michael Luger, Director of Manchester Business School said:
"MBAT will see the team putting into practice two key elements of the Manchester MBA: internationalism and teamwork. We're delighted that the city's business community is showing its support for the team as it makes its mark for Manchester, going head-to-head against some of the world's finest business schools."
