Preparing your tests and application documents

To apply for the Full-time MBA at Manchester Business School, you need to complete an online application form. You are also required to submit the following:

Two work-related references

Online references

You are required to submit two work-related references. We prefer one of your referees to be the person you report to in your current company. If you do not wish to inform your current employer that you are applying for the MBA your can submit references from the previous company. We do not need a reference from your University.

Your referees will submit their references online. In the application form you will find links to the reference forms. After downloading the application form, make sure you trigger the references links straight away and email them to your chosen referees. Your application is not complete until your references have been submitted. The reference links are unique to the application form you have downloaded so that they can be matched to the correct person and application. If you download another form you must use the reference links within that application.

We reserve the right to contact your referees for further clarification in connection with your application if required.

Your CV/résumé must include each job you have taken since graduating from your undergraduate degree (if you have one) in reverse chronological order, starting with your current position. You must include the month/year start and end date, job title, company name and salary for each position undertaken. If you have worked in more than one position for the same company please show each position separately to highlight your career progression. For each position, include bullet points of your key responsibilities and achievements. Your CV/résumé should ideally be no more than two or three pages in length.

All applicants are required to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test), regardless of nationality, education and professional background. Please check the admissions requirements for details. Please self-report your score on the application form and upload a copy of the provisional score report.

During your test, you will have the opportunity to send your official GMAT score report to five programmes. If you make your score report available to us, we will be able to verify your test score online within 20 calendar days of your test. We are listed as University of Manchester - Manchester Business School - MBA, Full Time - Manchester. Our institution code is N1C-XL-39. If you do not select MBS at the time you take your test we will not be able to view your score online and you will need to arrange for an official score report to be sent to us. If you have not yet taken your GMAT, you can still submit your application; however you must include your test date in the GMAT section of the application form. We may decide not to make an initial decision until we have your score.
