Experience our MBA events

We regularly hold events on campus and in London that provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the Manchester MBA Programmes through keynote lectures with leading academics, detailed programme information sessions and alumni/ current student Q&A panels.

Manchester (on-campus)

    "Operations Management as a Competitive Weapon" with Paul Taaffe
  • Paul Taaffe is the Operations Management module coordinator, and a visiting teaching fellow at Manchester Business School. His areas of lecturing expertise are in Operations Management and Project Management. Having spent over 30 years working in the telecommunications sector, Paul brings extensive knowledge and experience into the classroom.

    In addition to the lecture, the event will include:

    • programme information session
    • Q&A with current students
    • networking buffet with staff and students

London (Institute of Directors)

  • Tuesday 8 May 2012 (18:30 - 20:30)
    "Marketing in the Digital Age" with Prof. Jikyeong Kang
  • Professor Kang joined Manchester Business School in June 2000 where she has been involved with various leadership roles; she directed Full-time and Executive MBA Programmes and also provided strategic leadership for a suite of distance learning MBS Programmes. Professor Kang is now Director of the Manchester DBA programme, ranked 1st in the world. 

    Professor Kang received her BSc from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea; her MSc from Colorado State University, USA and a PhD from the University of Minnesota, USA. Professor Kang is a recipient of many research grants, and a consultant to many organisations. She also received several national and international awards for her research and actively publishes her work in various academic research journals.

    In addition to the lecture, this event will also include:

    • Programme information sessions
    • Q&A with current MBAs and/or alumni
    • Networking buffet with recruitment and admissions staff plus students/ alumni
