- Good practice in decision-making
The aim of this EPSRC-funded project is to develop a new conceptual framework and analytical diagnostics tool to assess the maturity and performance of organisational decision-making practices.
- Innovation and skills in the European Service Economy
An EU-ETEPS funded project focusing on KISA - Knowledge-Intensive Service Activities. The study involves the production of analytical reports (eg on trends in type and location of KISA, including in KIBS) and the development of relevant scenarios.
- Multinational enterprise acquisitions and linkages in emerging economies in the services sector
This project explores the organisation of the top British service firms that have acquired firms in emerging countries (China, Malaysia, Korea, Argentina and Brazil). Through case studies, involving interviews with headquarters, subsidiaries, suppliers and policy-makers, the project examines the organisation of service multinationals, including the structure of decision-making and the role of subsidiaries. The effect of this on changes in linkages with domestic suppliers (including maintenance, upgrading or abandonment of these relations) in the emerging economies is explored.
