I am a lecturer in the division of People, Management and Organisations, in the subject group Organisation and Society.

Having completed a degree in Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge (1997-2000) I spent time working as a labourer in various factories in South Cheshire and North Staffordshire, as well as teaching English in St. Petersburg, Russia, and History at a secondary school in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Between 2002 and 2003 I did an MA in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Birmingham, and went directly from this to a PhD at the University of Salford.

My PhD, entitled Critical Social Theory and the End of Work was completed in 2007. I have worked at Alliance Manchester Business School since 2009, first as a researcher and then since 2011 as a lecturer. During this time I have taught various courses and I am currently co-convenor for BMAN33000 International Business Analysis, convenor for BMAN24011 The Modern Corporation and convenor for BMAN73140 Research Methods for Management.
