Biography

Philippe LarÃdo is Professor at the Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, and Directeur de Recherche in the Laboratoire Territoires, Techniques, SociÃtÃs (LATTS) at the Ecole des Ponts in Paris. He has participated to numerous evaluations both at national and European level, and for instance has recently been a panel member of the FP6 2004 Monitoring panel, a rapporteur of the OECD-BMBF confÃrence on evaluation (Berlin 2005) and a co-author of the recent OECD report on recent trends on evaluation.

Research Interests

His research interests are in breakthrough innovation, the dynamics of research collectives, and research and innovation policies. On the latter he has recently edited with Philippe Mustar, Research and Innovation Policies in the New Global Economy (Edward Elgar, 2003 for the paperback edition), and is presently co-ordinating an European Network of Excellence on the subject, PRIME standing for policies for research and innovation in the move towards the ERA.
