Position: Lecturer in Healthcare Management

I joined Alliance Manchester Business School in January 2014 as a Lecturer in Health Care Management and as a tutor and cohort director on the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (NHS Leadership Academy) leadership development programme.

Previously, I have studied Health Economics and Health Care Management at postgraduate level, worked in the English National Health Service as a manager from 2000-07 and then at De Montfort University, lecturing in health care management from 2007-13, from where I was awarded the Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award in 2012 and the University's Teacher Fellowship in 2013.

I have recently completed a PhD at Manchester Business School in business and management focussing on a case study of change in medical education.

In 2015, I led a writing project for the Higher Education Acdemy (£25,000) at the Business School, which provided primer guides to teaching topics in higher education.

Research Interests

My research interests to date have focussed on the areas of medical professions, institutions and organisations. I am interested in research studies in the areas of professional culture & identity and pedagogic practice and my recently completed PhD in Business and Management focussed on individuals' experiences of engaging with leadership and management changes to medical education.
