Selected entry requirements

A-level: Grades AAA. General Studies is normally accepted if one of four A-levels passed in the same sitting. Language subjects will be considered on an individual basis. Critical Thinking is not accepted.

AS-level: 3 AS-levels accepted in place of 1 A-Level if all taken in Year 13

GCSE:

GCSE at Grade A in Maths (you will require a Grade 7 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England) plus GCSE at Grade B in English Language (you will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England). Applied Maths e.g. WJEC Mathematics - Numeracy is not accepted.

Key Skills qualification: The University warmly welcomes applications from students studying the Key Skills qualification. However, as the opportunities to take these modules are not open to all applicants, currently this is not an essential requirement of the University.

International Baccalaureate: 35 points overall with 6,6,6 in Higher Level subjects plus no less than 6 for Standard Level Maths and 5 for Standard Level English / English Language & Literature. Maths Studies and English Literature are not accepted.

6.5 overall, with no less than 6 in any component

CAE - Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English

Grade C or above. Please provide your unique and special numbers to be verified online

GCSE/O Level English Language  (as a first language)

Grade B or above. Applicants holding other qualifications should contact the undergraduate admissions team for guidance on the suitability of these qualifications

IGCSE English  (as a first language)

Grade B or above. International applicants who have studied IGCSE English will need to have completed the fully assessed oral examination to satisfy our English language requirements.

English language test validity:

Some English language test results are only valid for two years. Your English language test report must be valid on the start date of the course.

Relevant work experience: Work-related experience is not essential but can provide useful evidence of your team-working skills and ability to take responsibility. Relevant work experience can provide evidence of interest in and commitment to the subject.
