Santi Furnari is Professor of Strategy at Cass Business School, City, University of London and currently a visiting Research Fellow at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Prior joining Cass, he was a visiting PhD student and later a Research Affiliate at the University of Chicago. He completed his Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management at Bocconi University. Santi’s research interests include the emergence of new organizational fields, new practices and organizational innovations, particularly in the context of creative industries and creative projects. He studies such topics using institutional theory, configurational approaches, qualitative methods, and fuzzy-set/Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fs/QCA). 

His research has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Management, Organization Studies, Industrial and Corporate Change, Human Relations, and Strategic Organization (among others). His paper titled “Interstitial Spaces” has received the AMR Best Paper Award for the best paper published in the Academy of Management Review in 2014. He serves on the Editorial Boards of Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, and Journal of Management Studies.
