Alliance Manchester Business School’s Enterprise Centre is looking to support the next big start-up through Venture Further 2016.
Venture Further invites University of Manchester students and recent alumni to propose a business plan to an expert judging panel of enterprise and business professionals.
The competition is a fantastic opportunity for individuals or groups to receive expert feedback on their business ideas and gives them an opportunity to win a £10,000 cash injection to get their idea off the ground.
Last year, eight businesses were awarded seed funding for spotting real opportunities.
Martin Henery, Competition Director for Venture Further, said: “The competition is a great opportunity for students across the university who are serious about starting a business.
“Winners have gone on to launch many successful ventures in the past and it is great to see students and alumni enter every year with strong, innovative business ideas.”
There are four prize categories to choose from:
- Business: Businesses that have commercial potential via new products or services
- Social: Businesses that improve the lives of people and communities
- Digital: Businesses that apply digital technologies to generate new experiences and innovative business opportunities
- Research: Businesses that focus on the application of university-based research to real-world problems and needs typically with some form of intellectual property at the heart of the business
The deadline for applications is Tuesday 29 March 2015.
The competition is generously sponsored by CMS Payments Intelligence, Waters and Manchester Science Partnerships.
