Henry Kasim, VP External Affairs, Class of 2017, reflects on the success of this year’s MBA business summit: Connect17
The annual Alliance Manchester Business School Summit: Connect2017 was held in London on Friday, 3rd February 2017. It was the 7th student-led MBA summit, an event that aims to provide an environment for the Alliance Manchester Business School MBA community to connect, learn and celebrate.
This year’s summit looked to the future of business in areas such as technology, finance and marketing, as well as helping attendees with relationship building, influence, innovation and entrepreneurial skills. For the first time, we introduced student-led networking sessions, where attendees were grouped based on their industries of interest to discuss the latest topics. The keynote speech by Simon Cook explored trends in the VC industry and was well received by all. Many attendees expressed their enthusiasm for the event and felt that they had achieved something, whether that was the personal connections they’d made or the knowledge they’d gained from their discussions.
We were delighted to welcome 172 attendees from the Alliance Manchester Business School MBA community, which consists of full-time and part-time global MBA students, as well as MBA alumni. This year, the oldest alumni that attended the event were from the class of 1984. While most of the attendees are mainly based in Manchester and London, delegates travelled from as far as Kuwait. We can’t wait for next year!
