It was so lovely to have some time back home and enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays. January approached quickly and was a little stressful! I arrived back in Manchester at the start of the month and spent the majority of it in the library working on deadlines and revising (the joys of final year). I sat my last exam on the 25th of January and it was a relief to finally be finished, hopefully the hard work pays off!
As the new semester begins, it’s a very bitter-sweet feeling. I’m excited to move on from University and find a career that I can hopefully excel in yet saying goodbye to Manchester will definitely be difficult. I’m trying to find that work-life balance and enjoy my last semester at the University (it may prove a little challenging as I stress over everything and anything).
The International Programmes Society also welcomed our new exchange students last week, although they are a smaller group, they all seem so kind and friendly. I am really looking forward to getting to know them all better. We have already hosted our first social, a ‘Meet and Eat’ at the Students’ Union, it went really well! We also have a bar crawl this week to help everyone get to know each other. Hopefully they enjoy their semester at Manchester!
My Buddy (an exchange student that we are paired with) is from Minnesota, my exchange destination. Although the state is experiencing some severe blizzards and -25 degrees Celsius temperatures, I am really missing my time abroad.
This time last year I was in Wisconsin skiing and snowboarding but I am planning to visit again in the Summer hopefully! It’s nice to know and be connected to so many people from all over the world, one of the many reasons why I chose to study at Alliance Manchester Business School.
As for now, I am trying to get organised for they busy semester ahead as well as continuing to apply for some jobs, but am also fitting in some time to relax before the deadline start approaching again! I am really looking forward to what the final semester will entail.
