Happy New Year!
As I write this, I am also attempting to pack my belongings ready to go back to Manchester having been away from AMBS and university for nearly a month now. I am really looking forward to getting back in to the swing of things and starting semester two modules, the new units I have chosen to study are: International Business, Marketing Communications in the Digital Age, and Sustainable Business. I will also be continuing with Research Methodology. I am expecting this forthcoming semester to involve more contact hours, as last semester I undertook 50 credits worth of modules and this semester I am doing 70 credits.
Before these new modules can start however, there are the January exams. My first exam is on the 16th, and given it counts towards just over 5% of my degree (if looked at from a numerical perspective) I am feeling the pressure slightly and there is obviously a lot of content to cover. I have used some of this break to try out some new revision methods, largely using the online resources available on the Exam extra website. I did a lot of hours in retail over the holiday which forced me to plan my revision more effectively and stick to the topics I needed to cover perhaps more vigorously. My second exam is based on a case study, this is a first for me, but I have to say the preparation has been relatively enjoyable as the case study emphasises how relevant the module is.
Away from studying, I worked a lot of hours in retail over Christmas, helping to fund my university life. I also spent time catching up with friends and family over the new year.
Below is a photo of my dog’s first Christmas and of what I’ll miss when I go back up to Manchester.
