Just having handed in the final piece of coursework for my Globalization and Employment module, there was a sigh of relief as Easter holidays had arrived. While the rain gods remained unforgiving, the holidays brought about an opportunity to travel and relax for a while, before starting with revision, of course.
I headed down to London for a few days to catch up with some friends from high school. Going to London is always a unique experience because there are so many things to do! I managed to wander on the streets of Shoreditch but also went to check out the fast-paced Canary Wharf.
While I was in London, I got to know that a few of my friends were not going to be able to make it for our trip to Amsterdam, and so we had to scrap the entire plan. Nonetheless, I thought I could utilize the time to start my revision a little earlier than I had planned. Unlike last year, we have four more weeks of lectures after the holidays get over.
During these four weeks, I have four pieces of coursework, which includes three essays and a group presentation. I am particularly interested in the topic of my presentation, as we have to analyse the impacts globalisation has had on inequality. While many people believe that openness between countries will only lead to benefits, my readings so far have proven otherwise. It should be interesting to learn more about this topic.
The applications for student ambassador roles during the upcoming Freshers week have now opened, and it only makes me realize how quickly this year has passed by. I have also decided to apply once again since it was such an amazing experience last time around. I am looking forward to the outcome of my application, and it would be great if I get the opportunity to meet many of you in September.
Now, it is time to get back to researching for my essay!
