We are in the middle of reading week and I am currently visiting my family and friends in Sweden. I have definitely missed having them around, not to mention having my mum cooking my meals for me. Well, to be fair, I do get my meals cooked by my flatmates from time to time and I do miss them already. In a short period of time we have developed strong relationships, even though we have a wide range of different personalities as well as nationalities in the flat. We just click.
Same thing with my course mates: I miss them too! I was gladly surprised today when I checked my student email and found out my course mates had elected me as one of the two student representatives for first year BSc Management students. I am extremely thankful and also certain that I will be able to fulfil my duty as a spokesperson for the course.
At the moment, there is not much to complain about regarding the course. I am very happy with the course units and have found it easy to embrace new study routines, such as spending a few hours in the library every week and revising lectures that I find difficult. Although there was a short period of time when I missed two days of lectures and seminars because of illness and had to catch up prior to the next lecture in each module respectively. I would definitely recommend anyone to attend all lectures, unless they are pros in self studying. I am also aware that this is just the first part of the semester – things will get harder.
Overall, I have enjoyed my first month at university a lot; I get along with my flatmates and I enjoy the course I am attending. One of my goals before the end of the year is to get a part-time job. I was invited for an interview with Manchester United FC (unfortunately not as a football player) as a match day host, hospitality position. As I had to attend an important seminar when I had my appointment, I asked the recruitment clerk to reschedule and they asked me to contact them after reading week to arrange another appointment. I hope to come back with good news regarding this in my next post. Please stay tuned!
