It is with great sadness that we learned about the death of Eddie Davies, OBE, CBE yesterday.
Our thoughts are with his wife and his family during this difficult time.
Having studied at Alliance MBS during his early career, Eddie became a long-standing supporter of the Business School and The University of Manchester.
As Chair of the Alliance MBS Advisory Board since 2013, he shared his extensive business experience, advice and knowledge with our Leadership Team.
His generous donations fund the Eddie Davies Chair of Enterprise and Innovation Management, currently held by Professor Joseph Lampel and mean that the Eddie Davies Library is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
Professor Fiona Devine said: “As Chair of our Advisory Board Eddie’s insight, wisdom and warmth will be greatly missed. In many ways his entrepreneurial approach embodies the spirit of Alliance MBS and we are very grateful for the support he gave us. Our thoughts are with Eddie’s family during this sad time.”
