Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa scheme

Are you an international student or graduate from The University of Manchester who would like to start a business in the UK? The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa could provide the ideal opportunity.

Businesses started by former international students at the University include:

  • Home Fans - providing unique football-related travel experiences
  • Perfocal - an online marketplace that connects people with high-quality freelance photographers
  • Specscart - an innovative online eyewear retailer
  • Urban Chain - using blockchain technology in different urban service provisions

The application process

Each year from April through to March the following year, the University offers 3 opportunities for individuals or teams who feel they have a viable and innovative business idea to apply for one of 20 endorsement letters. These are an essential part of any application to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for a Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa which enables you to spend up to two years to try and build a successful business in the UK.

The next and final application deadline for the 2018-19 academic year is 12 noon on 15 February 2019.
