Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa scheme

Are you an international student or graduate from The University of Manchester who would like to start a business in the UK? The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa could provide the ideal opportunity.

Businesses started by former international students at the University include:

  • Home Fans - providing unique football-related travel experiences
  • Perfocal - an online marketplace that connects people with high quality freelance photographers
  • Specscart - an innovative online eyewear retailer
  • Urban Chain - using blockchain technology in different urban service provisions

The application process

Each year from April through to March the following year, the University offers 3 opportunities for individuals or teams who feel they have viable and innovative business idea to apply for one of 20 endorsement letters. These are an essential part of any application to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) for a Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa which enables you to spend up to two years to try and build a successful business in the UK.

The next and final application deadline for the 2018-19 academic year is 12 noon on 15 February 2019.
