MSc Business Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis

Please note that due to the high volume of applications received this year, this course is now closed to new applications for entry in September 2017. Applications for 2018 will be processed from October 2017.

Advice to applicants

Your statement of purpose should answer specific questions outlined below.  Applications will not be successful without this statement.

  1. Please tell us your current or final average mark for the subjects you have studied in your degree, and if possible your position in class.
  2. Please list any other quantitative courses courses or qualifications you have taken in addition to your undergraduate degree.
  3. Please tell us why you are interested in the MSc Analytics: Operational Research and Risk Analysis course at Alliance MBS and how the course will impact on your future.
  4. It is competitive to gain a place on the course.  Please tell us what makes you stand out as an applicant compared to others.

How your application is considered

Normally applications cannot be processed without the following:

  • up-to-date English language score outlining individual element scores (where applicable)
  • first and second year transcript
  • two academic references (at least one will be required at the time of application)
  • statement of purpose
  • copy of passport (for non home/EU students only)

Scanned copies will be accepted at the time of application.

Deferrals

To defer your offer to the following year, you must contact your admission officer to get a copy of the deferral form. You can only defer your place for one year.

Re-applications

If you applied in the previous year and your application was not successful you may apply again. Your application will be considered against the standard course entry criteria for that year of entry. In your new application you should demonstrate how your application has improved. We may draw upon all information from your previous applications or any previous registrations at the University as a student when assessing your suitability for your chosen course.
