We advise you to apply early. We operate a rolling admissions process, therefore your application will be considered as soon as you apply. Entry is competitive. Once the class is full, we will operate a waitlist. If no places become available we will defer your admission to the next intake.

Kelley-Manchester Global MBA application process

After submitting your application, both business schools will assess your application. We use a wide variety of entry criteria to evaluate applications, which are assessed using all the application elements: application form, references, CV/résumé, degree and professional qualifications, admission test score, English level and interview (if required).

Decisions are made by consensus of the admissions committees of Alliance Manchester Business School and Kelley School of Business. If your application is successful you will be offered a place on the joint Kelley-Manchester Global MBA. If all the elements of the joint MBA programme are completed successfully, meeting the requirements of each institution, you will be awarded a degree from both The University of Manchester and Indiana University

To fulfil the admission requirements of the joint Kelley-Manchester Global MBA programme will also need to complete the Indiana University application form.

Indiana University Application Instructions

Send the original physical copies of your degree transcripts/certificates (not scanned or photocopied) with an official English translation (if applicable) to be validated by Indiana University. Send to:

To accept your place you will need to complete the acceptance form and pay a reservation fee of USD 3,000. The reservation is non-refundable, except if you do not meet the conditions stated in the offer or you are refused a visa to enter the US.

The induction and first residential workshop will be held at Kelley School of Business in Bloomington Indiana. If you require a visa to enter the United States, Kelley School of Business will provide the official documentation needed to apply.

The application form is submitted online through our MBA Apply Portal. You can save and come back to the form if you are not able to complete it in one session. To ensure you receive the application receipt, add webmaster@mbs.ac.uk to your safe list. The online application form is only the first step in the application process. To complete your application you are required to submit all the other application elements below. You should upload the additional documents online through the MBA Apply Portal after submitting the application form.

Your CV/résumé is an essential part of our assessment. After submitting the application form, please log back into the MBA Apply Portal to upload this document. Your CV/résumé should ideally be no more than two pages in length and should include the following information:

Professional experience

  • Each job you have taken since graduating from your undergraduate degree (if you have one) in reverse chronological order, starting with your current position.
  • Include the month/year start and end date, job title, company name and salary for each position undertaken.
  • If you have worked in more than one position for the same company please show each position separately to highlight your career progression.
  • For each position, include bullet points of your key responsibilities and achievements.

Academic credentials

  • Details of all your qualifications; including your Bachelor's degree, any Master's degree, postgraduate diplomas/specialisations and professional qualifications.
  • Any academic distinctions, honours or awards.

Other

  • Brief details of any non-work related leadership positions held, hobbies, voluntary activities etc.

It is important that you submit your previous degree documents proving that you have been awarded the degree and the grade you achieved. We cannot assess your application and admit you to the programme until we have received these documents. After submitting the application form, please log back into the MBA Apply Portal to upload these documents.

You should submit a scanned copy of your official Bachelor's degree transcript and certificate (or Master's if you do not have a Bachelor's). All documents must be submitted in English. If the original document is not in English please provide a translation from a certified translator.

Your degree transcript should show:

  • the type of degree awarded
  • date of enrolment and date of graduation
  • the courses you took; the marks you achieved
  • your final result, GPA or average grade

If your transcript states that you have successfully completed and graduated and includes your final result, you do not need to also provide a certificate.

To be admitted to the programme you are also required to send the physical original copies of your degree transcripts/certificates (not scanned or photocopied) with an official English translation (if applicable) to:

If you have a professional qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, CIM, Professional Licence etc, please submit:

  • copy of your certificate proving you have the qualification
  • proof of your Professional Association membership (if applicable).

We reserve the right to contact your degree awarding institutions and/or professional associations for further information in connection with your application if required.

Kelley-Manchester Global MBA candidates are required to achieve a satisfactory result on one of the following admissions tests:

Manchester Admissions Test (MAT)

If your preference is to take the Manchester Admissions Test (MAT) you will need to select 'Request MAT' when completing the admissions test section of the application form. After submitting the application form, we will provide you with further details and your personal login to take the test.

GMAT® and GRE®

If you have taken the GMAT or GRE

After submitting the application form, upload your official score report through the MBA Apply Portal.

If you intend to take the GMAT or GRE

After submitting the application form, upload your registration document through the MBA Apply Portal.

We also need to verify your result, therefore if you have not already made your official test score report available to us, please arrange to do so.

How to report your official GRE score

If you have taken an English language test, after submitting the application form, upload your test report through the MBA Apply Portal.

We require a copy of the photo/name page in your passport to verify your identity and register you formally on the MBA programme.

 

You are required to submit two professional references and your application is not complete until they are received.

You will be asked to include the contact details for your referees in the MBA application form. When your application has been submitted we will email your referees to request them to complete our official MBA reference. We prefer one of your referees to be the person you report to in your current company. If you do not wish to inform your current employer that you are applying for the MBA you can use a referee from your previous company. We do not require academic references.
