Grades AAB. General Studies is normally accepted if one of four A-levels passed in the same sitting. Critical Thinking is not accepted. Three AS-Levels accepted in place of one A-Level if all taken in Year 13.

Unit grade information

The University of Manchester welcomes the provision of unit information where available.  Like all other information provided by applicants this may be taken into consideration when assessing your application.  Unit grades will not normally form part of an offer conditions.


GCSE at Grade B in Maths and English Language (Applied Maths e.g. WJEC Mathematics - Numeracy is not accepted). You will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England.

International Baccalaureate

 33 points overall with 6,6,5 in Higher Level subjects plus no less than 5 for Standard Level Maths and English / English Language & Literature. Maths Studies and English Literature are not accepted.
