Applying through UCAS
If you wish to be considered for an undergraduate degree programme at Alliance Manchester Business School you must submit your application online through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). We are unable to accept direct applications.
Our UCAS institution code is M20 MANU and the individual course codes for our degree programmes are listed within the online fact file for each course:
When to submit your application
Due to the popularity of all our courses we highly recommend that you submit your application by the 25 January deadline. Whilst it still may be possible to submit your application after the 25 January deadline, we are unable to guarantee that your application will be assessed.
Filling in your UCAS application
We do not interview candidates so you will need to ensure that your UCAS application contains as much information as possible about your academic and extra-curricular achievements that are relevant to our entry criteria and the academic field. It is important that you demonstrate why you are interested in joining us in your UCAS application.

Predicted Grades
Due to the popularity of our courses, preference may be given to candidates whose predicted grades exceed our entry requirements.
Please ensure that your referee provides your predicted grades on your UCAS application. The provision of predicted grades is required in order to fully consider an application. Please note that failure to include predicted grades on your UCAS application can lead to the rejection of an application due to the high competition for places.
Please ensure that your reference includes a professional email address that your referee can be contacted on. If we require further information from your referee regarding your predicted grades we will contact them via email. If we do not receive a response from your referee we may be unable to make a decision on your application and this could lead to an unsuccessful decision due to an incomplete application.
Personal Statement
Our ratio of applications to places is extremely competitive; on average we receive 11 applications per place. This means that we cannot possibly offer a place to every applicant who has the required predicted grades. The personal statement is a crucial part of the UCAS application. It is an applicant’s opportunity to demonstrate their genuine interest and passion in the subject area, to explain in their own words why they think they are suitable for the course and to show what extra-curricular activities they have taken part in that are relevant to the academic field. The personal statement is a key factor that is taken into consideration when we are making the decision of whether to issue an offer. We are looking for a well written personal statement with correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Processing your application
The decision on your application will come through UCAS Track. Please use UCAS Track to check the status of your application. We receive many thousands of applications every year so please bear with us if you do not receive a decision immediately. During busy periods, it can take up to 4 weeks to receive a decision. We strongly advise that you regularly check your emails (including your junk email account) to ensure that you do not miss any correspondence from us. The email address that you list on your UCAS application is our first point of contact should we need any further information from you. Please note, if we do not receive a reply to a request for information within the specified time frame, this may lead to the rejection of an application due to the high competition for places.
If you receive an offer
If your application is successful you will receive either a conditional or an unconditional offer. If your offer is conditional this means that you still need to meet our requirements. Offers are typically conditional on completing an academic or English language qualification. Once you have completed the relevant qualification, met the conditions of your offer and sent your final results to the UG Admissions Team your offer will be updated to unconditional. If your offer is unconditional this means that you have met our entry requirements.
If you are taking A Levels, the International Baccalaureate or a BTEC qualification, we will normally receive your exam results directly from UCAS. However, if you are taking a qualification from outside the UK, or a UK qualification such as the Access to HE or an international foundation year course, we will not receive these results from UCAS. It is your responsibility to ensure that your results are sent to us. Your offer will include a deadline to send your final results. Please ensure that you send your results to UG Admissions Team at ugadmissions.ambs@manchester.ac.uk by this deadline.
