Circle Steele

Circle serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Wai Yin Society with her extensive experience involves collaborating with diverse and community-based organizations.

Notably, Circle made history as the first female Youth Leader from Hong Kong to receive the prestigious British Diversity Gold Award, recognizing her pioneering efforts in partnership with Halifax Bank to create employment opportunities for British Chinese youth, in which she played a crucial role as a partner in pioneering these ideas.

Beyond her role at Wai Yin, Circle actively contributes as an Executive Member to various boards, front line networks and organizations, passionately advocating for cultural diversity, health equality, and bringing social change, while championing underrepresented groups, particularly those for whom English is not their first language. Her lived experience with health and well-being issues further fuels her dedication to ensuring equitable access to healthcare and support for these communities.

Circle recently received two awards. In 2022, she was recognized with the Culture Award, a part of the Uncertain Future Project led by Manchester Art Gallery, where she served as an advisory group member. In 2023, she honoured with the National BAME Health and Care Award for Community Initiative of the Year, in collaboration with Vocal as a BRAG member, which plays a key role in shaping the direction of health research at the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre, highlighting her commitment to promoting equality, inclusiveness, and social justice.

Hosted by MBA alumna Claire-Marie Boggiano, Lurig Change & Development.
