Details of our standard offers for the most popular entry qualifications are listed below. Please note that in addition to our A-level (or equivalent) requirements, you must also meet our GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English language subject requirements.

Entry requirements for
BSc Accounting

GCSEs

To meet our Maths subject requirements we require GCSE Maths at Grade A (you will require a Grade 7 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England) or we can accept GCSE Applications of Maths and Methods in Maths at Grades AA if studied together in the same sitting. Please note we do not accept Applied Maths e.g. WJEC Mathematics – Numeracy.

To meet our English language subject requirements we require GCSE English Language at Grade B (you will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England).

A-levels / AS-levels

Grades AAA. General Studies is normally accepted if one of four A-levels passed in the same sitting. Critical Thinking and Use of Maths are not accepted. Three AS-levels accepted in place of one A-level if all taken in Year 13.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

36 points overall with 6,6,6 in Higher Level subjects.

Students  without  GCSE/IGCSE Maths at grade A (or 7) and English Language at B (or 6) will need 6 in SL Maths* and 5 in SL English (Language A: English Language and Literature or Language A: Literature).
If Language B: English is offered at SL we would need you to achieve 6.

*We do not currently accept Maths Studies for BSc (Hons) Accounting applicants for the purposes of meeting our Maths subject requirements.

BTEC Nationals

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma

We consider the National Extended Diploma for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course. Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full D*D*D*.

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma

We consider the National Diploma for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course. Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full BTEC National Diploma at D*D* plus grade A at A-level.

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate

We consider the National Extended Certificate for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course.  Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full BTEC National Extended Certificate at D* plus grades AA at A-level. 

The subject of your BTEC qualification will be taken into consideration when making a decision on your offer. Please note that we do not accept General Studies as an A Level option and we do not accept A Level subjects which are the same as your BTEC qualification.

Please note that the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma and the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate must be studied alongside A levels. We are unable to accept combinations of the BTEC qualification.

Access to HE Diploma

60 credits are required with 45 credits at Level 3 with Distinction.

Entry requirements for all other Alliance MBS degree programmes

GCSEs

To meet our Maths subject requirements we require GCSE Maths at Grade B (you will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England) or we can accept GCSE Applications of Maths and Methods in Maths at Grades BB if studied together in the same sitting. Please note we do not accept Applied Maths e.g. WJEC Mathematics – Numeracy.

To meet our English language subject requirements we require GCSE English Language at Grade B (you will require a Grade 6 in the newly reformed GCSEs in England).

A-levels / AS-levels

Grades AAB. General Studies is normally accepted if one of four A-levels passed in the same sitting. Critical Thinking and Use of Maths are not accepted. Three AS-levels accepted in place of one A-level if all taken in Year 13.

35 points overall with 6,6,5 in Higher Level subjects.

Students without GCSE/IGCSE Maths and English Language at grade B (or 6) will need 5 in SL Maths (or Maths Studies*) and SL English (Language A: English Language and Literature or Language A: Literature).
If Language B: English is offered at SL we would need you to achieve a 6.

*We do not currently accept Maths Studies for BSc (Hons) International Business, Finance and Economics applicants for the purposes of meeting our Maths subject requirements.

BTEC Nationals

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma

We consider the National Extended Diploma for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course. Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full D*D*D.

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma

We consider the National Diploma for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course. Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full BTEC National Diploma at D*D plus grade B at A-level.

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate

We consider the National Extended Certificate for entry provided it is in a subject relevant to the chosen course.  Entry requirements are based on achievement of the full BTEC National Extended Certificate at D* plus grades AB at A-level.

Please note that the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma and the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate must be studied alongside A levels. We are unable to accept combinations of the BTEC qualification.

Access to HE Diploma

60 credits are required with 45 credits at Level 3. Of those at Level 3, a minimum of 30 credits with Distinction and 15 credits with Merit.
