Emma Fox

Emma is an official tour guide for Manchester, the Bridgewater Canal in Salford and for North Wales.

She is a born and bred Mancunian who loves sharing stories and insider local knowledge about her home town. Guiding since 2009, she thinks guiding is the best job in the world - meeting people, working with all ages, all backgrounds, in a place constantly evolving, being active, being outdoors and freelance. She studied European Studies, including history, international relations and German and has lived in Berlin and Vienna. Emma spricht Deutsch.

Emma enjoys bringing to life historical and modern Manchester through engaging story telling – on diverse subjects such as industrial heritage, the radical ideas of, among others, Engels and the Pankhursts, cotton and slavery, Factory Records, the Scuttlers, the arts, sports, architecture, food and drink, Manchester bees, multi-cultural Manchester, Southern Cemetery and our green and hidden spaces.

In-person attendees

After her talk Emma will take those who attend in person on a walking tour around the University of Manchester, discussing the amazing women in it's history.

There will then be a light lunch served at AMBS with the opportunity for networking.

Hosted by MBA alumna Claire-Marie Boggiano, Lurig Change & Development.
