Global MBA summer graduation in Manchester - a celebration of hard work for China Centre students

The University welcomed a delegation of graduating global MBA students from the China Centre in summer, the best season to visit Britain

Graduates of the Manchester Global MBA and Tongji-Manchester Global MBA attended the ceremony in Manchester in July - an exciting moment in their MBA journey. They were joined by UoM China Centre Director, Ms. Sherry Fu and guests from Shanghai's Tongji University: Prof. Fu’An Jin, Senior Deputy Dean, School of Economics and Management; Dr. Qin Xu, Deputy Director of MBA Centre; and Ms. Yuexian Shou, Director of International Cooperation and Accreditation Office.

Speaking about the day, one graduate said: "It has been a great learning journey! I would like to thank everyone involved in the programme for providing so much support, and also myself for successfully going through this journey of challenges!”

A welcome reception was held at the University for the China Centre students. Prof. Fiona Devine, Head of Alliance Manchester Business School and Mr. Xavier Duran, MBA Programmes Director joined the reception:

Manchester has always been the birthplace of revolutionary ideas. It was the centre of the industrial revolution, the place where the first atom was split and the birthplace of modern computing. The Nobel Prize-winning revolutionary material graphene was also first isolated in Manchester. China Centre Director Ms. Sherry Fu and our guests from Tongji University were invited to visit the National Graphene Institute to learn more about this discovery:

A cultural day tour to Wedgwood was also arranged by the China Centre so graduating students could experience the traditional British crafts of porcelain and hat making:
